Pants and other things

Well we are back on a plane, winging our way to Chang Mai. Our time in Bangkok is over - what a crazy place! We have experienced a lot of forms of transport; taxis, buses, skytrain, but my favourite was the canal boat.
The pace of life has been quite quick, I am expecting it to slow down a bit as we get into the village.
The food has been great so far, I often end up with quite a hot mouth though . Yesterday Mike and Kerry bought some deep fried grasshoppers which we all tried. Leah's reaction was probably the best, although Tama and Graham didn't seem to enjoy them too much.
You're probably wondering about the title of this post? Pants? Apparently required when going to church. So everyone who had some wore them - lovin the heat!? Church was cool, we enjoyed the worship - all in Thai - but we recognised the music and were able to sing along in English. We didn't understand the preaching although taking communion was a real chance to be as one with the locals before God - Jesus died for us all!
After church we were given lunch, as I dished myself some food the lady told me it was called 'morning glory' needless to say quite hot! The youth come round selling drinks to fundraiser for their camp, so we all bought drinks.
Then headed off to JJ Market - you can buy anything there. Hopefully we got some gifts you will like. We had road stall dinner, then found our way back to the hotel. So far our experience has been quite touristy, we are looking forward to getting to the village and getting our hands dirty. Please pray for us to do our part well as we work to improve the lives of these people and that we will learn and grow as we do it
Thanks for reading, Jono.

Hi all, Kerry here, wow what a place, so large and diverse on so many levels and such extremes! Had a very strong sense of God's love for the Thai people during communion in the service, almost moved to tears. Could write a book but won't. My love to Kyla and kids Xxxx.
